Good pickings…

September brings the final lead up to Harvest, with apples, blackberries, pears and plums ripening high up on their branches. Whilst on the ground cabbages are heartening up, delicious squashes and pumpkins (perfect for candle-lit lanterns as the evenings draw in) are carefully formed under large protective leaves and the last of the summer fruits are safely preserved in jams and cordials for the long winter months. There is beauty to be found in the perfect imperfections as well as the variety of tastes, textures and goodness they provide – whether in your favourite hot crumbles, steamed puddings or heart warming stews.

Harvest Time is a celebratory time to thank God for all he’s given to us, as well as a reminder of the unique ‘flavours’ each one of us adds to the world through our individual gifts and strengths. Join us in celebrating Harvest Festival during the first Sunday & Monday in October.
