Happy Anniversary

We’re looking forward to lots of celebrations this month, including our Chapel Anniversary, which we’ll be marking the occasion with two services on Sunday 2nd April, followed by cream teas in the afternoon.

Join us for an early start this Easter morning, Sunday 16th April – it’s always a joyful and reflective start to the Easter celebrations. There is something very special to be said for being up and about before the rest of the world completely awakes, and what better way to start than by discovering the Good News like Mary Magdalene that first Easter Morning:

“Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance… Now Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb… “They have taken my Lord away,” she said, “and I don’t know where they have put him.” At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realise that it was Jesus… Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (which means Teacher). Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God’”. Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news: “I have seen the Lord!” And she told them that he had said these things to her”John Ch20 v1, 11-18

The 8am Holy Communion will be followed by breakfast, with a selection of cereals, toast, jams and marmalades and of course boiled eggs (…giving you a hearty start to your day ready for all your Easter Egg hunts and activities!).
