Spring bank holiday joy

The transformation on Easter morning was a sight to behold! The cruel, rugged wooden cross was adorned with colourful fresh Spring flowers, presented by members of our congregation, old and young together, as a visual representation of new life and hope gained through Jesus Christ’s sacrifice for us and His resurrection!

What held Him to that cross? How did He endure the taunts, the pain and torture? And being forsaken in those last hours? His amazing love for us, yesterday, today and forever. “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” (John 15:12-13)

“Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth” (1John 3:18)

We can create small acts of love and joy each day, by giving Jesus the honour in all that we do, in work, worship and play. We are encouraged to continue sharing with others God’s love and all that He has done. It could be through small acts of kindness, little tokens of love to let others know they are cared for and are not alone. Remember Jesus experienced the complete depths of human emotion from abandonment, grief, suffering, anger, abundant love – nothing will surprise Him! Anything on our hearts and minds can be brought to Him, safe in the knowledge that no one will be turned away. His arms are outstretched ready
for you.

Share the joy and wonder. Be the shoulder. Be you. Bring honour to Jesus.
Wishing you joy filled Spring Bank Holidays!
