We remember

In the midst of the changing seasons we remember;

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die; a time to plant and a time to uproot; a time to kill and a time to heal; a time to tear down and a time to build; a time to weep and a time to laugh; a time to mourn and a time to dance; a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them; a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to search and a time to give up; a time to keep and a time to throw away; a time to tear and a time to mend; a time to be silent and a time to speak; a time to love and a time to hate; a time for war and a time for peace.” Ecclesiastes 3

Although these contrasts are hard to comprehend we are also reminded that we have one constant amidst these changes; that God’s love for us will never change or falter.

You are warmly invited to join us for 1914 Remembered, a special evening on Sunday 9th November, 6pm to commemorate all those who served their King and Country and gave their lives in WW1.

Eleven men from our local area did not return from the war so we’d like to dedicate this evening to them and support men and women serving in the forces today by holding a retiring collection in aid of ‘Help for Heroes’.

The evening will be an eclectic mix of readings, poetry, slides and music, providing a background history and setting to the roles our men undertook, as well as a look at the life of our area during that time.
