You’re invited…

Join us on Sunday 12th June, at 10.45am, for a celebratory family service to mark the Sunday School Anniversary and the 90th Birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The service has taken special inspiration from the tribute book ‘The Servant Queen and the King she serves’.

The tribute provides an honest insight into the core Christian beliefs, values and steadfastness of our Queen’s faith and trust in Jesus Christ throughout her service. She has faced and overcome many tragedies and celebrated achievements both globally, nationally and personally… She is openly a devoted Christian and manages to cross barriers with people from different nationalities, faiths and those who have none. Jesus commanded us to love our neighbour as ourselves, which is often reflected within the Queen’s broadcasts:

“His simple message of love has been turning the world upside down ever since. He showed that what people are and what they do, does matter and does make all the difference”

A real inspiration to follow the footsteps of royalty, with a duty to care for each other, and to trust fully in God:

“Go out into the darkness, and put your hand into the hand of God. That shall be to you better than light, and safer than a known way.”

During the storms earlier this year our coronation tree was badly damaged and had to be removed. However all was not lost: the tree surgeon skilfully created three benches and a stool from the trunk which will be dedicated during this service, with the original coronation plaque in place.
